Watches are one of the useful accessories man has ever invented. It is used to keep track of time, obviously, but it seems for the modern human being knowing the hour of the day is not enough. With modernity, humans are piled up with things to do and because of that they get lost track of their activities instead. Thus, the creation of computerized watches. Just recently, Google introduced a new platform for smartwatches called Android Wear which has a splendid approach in time device usage.

Unlike the conventional smartwatches, Android Wear has a unique voice command feature. With the magic words "Ok Google," you can get things done. You can organize information like taking notes, set appointments for notification. You can check for weather updates. It helps you reach your destination with its reliable navigation. It also allows you to connect with your smartphone. In a sense, the wear acts as an extension of your phone. Through that, you can respond to your messages and emails from friends. You can even see who is calling your phone at the moment.

Currently available Android wearables are LG G Watch (left) and Samsung Gear Live (right). They have similar square slab appearances. Their specs are all the same except for the screens. Gear Live has a 1.63” Super AMOLED touchscreen display. G Watch, on the other hand, has a 1.65” IPS LCD. Both have 1.2GHz processors, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Both work with Bluetooth 4.0 and are dust and water resistant. Their batteries, however, are typically good for one day, not quite expected for watches though. Aside from the two above mentioned, Motorola will be releasing their own Moto 360 wearable. It has a classic round face design which is very cool.

Once you got in the island, there are tons of things to do both in the sea and the land. First in the “to do” list is snorkeling. Just rent a life vest and a pair snorkels from the local shop and you are off to view the marine life, you might even encounter a group of sea turtles on the way!  If snorkeling is not enough, go scuba diving – there are more to see in the deep sea.

If you had enough with the ocean, exploring the local village is a good way to take a rest. As mentioned earlier, Apo Island is a small mountainous island and you can even tour the whole land within a day. If you’re hungry for another adventure, go trekking. The trekking trails are not that difficult so you don’t have to worry exhausting yourself to see the island’s beautiful sceneries.

Apo Island Diving

Of course an island escapade is never complete without relaxing on the beach. The white sandy beach is always there to cushion you. These are just some of the things the island can offer. So if ever you are thirsty for a tropical adventure, take a visit on Apo Island of the Philippines.

Have you tried to visit Dumaguete city? It is the capital city of Negros Oriental and known as the city of Gentle People. This place is gifted with beautiful tourist destinations and natural resources. It was the place where became part of the History of the Philippines during World War II. The "Belfry" is evidence that remained from the historical event.

It is one of the oldest historical structure built on 1811 located at the heart of Dumaguete City, standing near St Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral which known as one of the oldest stone church in the Negros Oriental. The structure was listed as one of the tourist spots in Negros Oriental as well. The name “Dumaguete” came from the word “daggit” which means to steal or to snatch. This has been coined since during the 1700’s, pirates go to Dumaguete because of its natural beauty that somewhat has a power to snatch their attention and visit the place or settle permanently. In 1811, it is being used as a watch towerto warn townsfolk of these raiding pirates.

This structure has three floors, and the top floor is where you can find the bell that is being rung that signifies a start of a vigil or a mass at the neighboring cathedral. At the top still, you can see a scenic view of Dumaguete and smell the fresh breeze of sea air. Due to its proximity to the Dumaguete city public market and the downtown area, traffic around the Bell Tower tend to be heavy on the peak hours between 9 am and 5 pm according to locals. The place is generally always packed with people, milling about near its base.Alongside the bell tower are souvenir shops that sell religious items and candles. These candles can be lighted underneath the belfry tower where a “grotto” of the Virgin Mary is situated to pray and have a solemn moment with God. Devotees regularly light candles at the grotto area to profess their faith or to say their prayer requests.
